How much will I be paid?

As an apprentice you will be paid by your employer for the work you do, as well as for the time spent on training. Apprenticeship wages can vary depending on your skills and experience, type of apprenticeship and sector you work in.

There are National Minimum Wage hourly rates of pay you are entitled to and which all employers should follow.

As an apprentice you are entitled to the apprentice rate of £8.00 per hour.

Apprentices under the age of 19 years old or aged 19 years old or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship are entitled to a minimum hourly rate of £7.55 per hour. This rate does not apply to Higher Level Apprenticeships.
